Sunday July 21 – 10am – Annual General Meeting and BBQ

Please find attached the combined notice of the annual general meetings for the BVLH Association and the Foundation. The annual meetings and BBQ will take place Sunday July 21, 2024 at the Lac Ste Marie municipal building.  There will be updates from our science committee and discussion of the threat of mining claims. 

Please note that anyone who has not paid their membership dues for 2024-25 is encouraged to do so by sending an e-transfer of $35 to Ted Billey, BVLH Treasurer, at  finance@bvlacheney.ca. Members must be paid up to vote at the Annual Meeting of the Association. Payment by credit card on the Association web site is now available. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday July 21 at 10 am. All residents in the watershed are encouraged to become members and attend the meeting.

Invitation to the Fête des voisins of Lac-Sainte-Marie

For a second consecutive year, Lake Heney Watershed Association participates at the Fête des voisins of Lac-Sainte-Marie and the opening of the market Les Saveurs de la Vallée in Gracefield.  We are pleased to invite you to meet us on Saturday, June 8th, from noon to 5 pm in Lac-Sainte-Marie, and on June 14, from noon to 5 pm, in Gracefield.

We will provide you with information on protecting the shores of our lakes, Heney, Barbue, Desormeaux, Noir and Vert, and also on the shoreline regulations that apply.

We will also distribute samples of seeds of the magnificent flowers found growing wild on the shores of the lakes, and how to plant them to beautifully revegetate the shores, with the aim of increasing the health of our lakes.  These flowers are very attractive to butterflies, pollinators and hummingbirds.  We hope to see many of you there.
