Notice of Annual General Meetings

The annual meetings and BBQ will take place Sunday July 20, 2025 at the Lac Ste-Marie municipal building.  There will be updates from our science committee and discussion of the threat of mining claims and the growing problem of milfoil in the lakes.

Please note that anyone who has not paid their membership dues for 2025-26 is encouraged to do so (Online Membership Registration). Members must be paid up to vote at the Annual Meeting of the Association. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday July 20 at 10 am. All residents in the watershed are encouraged to become members and attend the meeting and the BBQ that will follow.

You can read the notices here: Notice of Annual General Meetings

Protect your lake with wildflowers

If you care about the health of your lake, revegetation of its shoreline is essential. That is why, for a third year, the Association du Bassin versant du lac Heney Watershed (ABVLHW) invites you to come meet us at the Lac-Sainte-Marie Fête des voisins (Neighbors Day), on June 7th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and at the opening of the Les saveurs de la Vallée Market in Gracefield, on June 13th between noon and 5 p.m.

We will offer you a sample of wildflower seeds that will help protect and beautify your shoreline, while contributing to the health of your lake. Our Association counts on your support in its work to protect the lakes in the Watershed (Lacs Heney, Desormeaux, à la Barbue, Vert, Noir and other small lakes) so that we, as well as future generations, can enjoy this magnificent nature that is offered to us.

Time to renew or Become a member for 2025/26!

If you are a member of the Association, please renew your membership for 2025-26. If you are not yet a member, please consider joining. We need you.

With more members, the Association has a stronger voice on the issues that you care about, like protecting Lac Heney and the watershed lakes against the spread of Eurasian Milfoil and the threat of mining. Membership also entitles you to vote (and some food and drink at the BBQ) at the Association’s Annual General Meeting on July 20, 2025 at the Lac Ste-Marie Community Centre.

Memberships can be renewed and new members can join through this portal on the Association web site. The membership fee is $50 for 2025-26.

If you are interested in the work of the Association or have concerns or ideas that you want to communicate to the board, please get in touch with any director or send a note through the contact link on the Association web site. We want to hear from you.

Thanks.
